About

This blog was created after I initiated a discussion on Facebook, on the BC Voters Supporting BC Teachers and Public Education group.

As I have friends and family living in various places across the province, I wanted to know if there was a quick way to find out which School Trustee candidates were strong supporters of Public Education.

The information I have collected has been shared with me by various people. Some candidates have been endorsed by teachers’ unions (or other federations), some haven’t. To avoid falling into the trap of “advertising” anyone running for School Trustee, I am asking that you provide a detailed explanation of why you believe so and so should be added to this blog.

Please refrain from sending me personal messages on Facebook or on this blog as I do not have time to address your requests.  Write down your comments on the BC Voters Supporting BC Teachers and Public Education page, so that it can be seen by everyone. Advertising yourself doesn’t cut it. If you believe you would be a great candidate, do share publicly and have various groups of people vouch for you.

If some of you do not agree with the names listed on this blog, I encourage you to start a blog of your own so that you can share what you have discovered on your side. Or create a discussion on the BC Voters Supporting BC Teachers and Public Education page.

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to those of you who helped me come up with this list. You know who you are. 🙂

Annie

P.S. To ensure you are voting for the candidates that you believe would be great supporters of BC Education, I encourage you to also do your own research. Voting is important and it is our responsibility to stay informed.

Name/typo correction: It’s Sandra Nixon in Richmond, not Susan Nixon. She has my vote.
